Important Dates

Jan. 1, 2016 - Applications for absentee ballots for 2016 elections may be accepted. Absentee Request Form

Polls Open at 6:30 a.m.
Polls Close at 7:30 p.m.

Bring ID To The Polls

Every voter will be required to provide proof of identity before voting. The form of identification that you may use includes your current and valid photo identification card, military identification, copy of utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check, or government document showing your name and current address. (**Note: You cannot use as proof of identification a notice that the Board of Elections mailed to you.**) If you do not have, or fail or refuse to provide, the required proof of identity, you may cast a provisional ballot and you will have 10 days after the election to come to the Tuscarawas County Board of Elections to show an ID. If you fail to come in to show an ID after the 10 days your provisional ballot will not be counted.

The meeting originally scheduled for the Tuscarawas County Board of Elections on Monday, February 8, 2016 is canceled and rescheduled for Monday, February 15, 2016. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Board Room of the Tuscarawas County Board of Elections Office located on the ground floor of the original county courthouse.

Next Election: Tuesday, March 15, 2016

The polls will be open on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for voters to cast their ballots. To see if you are properly registered, find your polling location, or view a sample ballot for your precinct, please click here. For more information, use the links to the left, the information below, call our office at 330-343-8819, or visit us on the ground floor of the original county courthouse.


Voter Registration Deadline

The deadline to register to vote for the March 15, 2016 Primary Election is Tuesday, February 16 at 9:00 p.m. The Registration office will be open that day 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. for voters to register or change their address in order to be eligible to vote in the Primary Election held on March 15, 2016.


Absentee Voter Information

Non-military/overseas ballots will commence mailing on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. The last day to request an absentee ballot be mailed is Saturday, March 12 at noon.

In-office absentee voting will commence on Wednesday, February 17, and end at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 14. Hours during this time period are as follows:

  • February 17 - 19 = 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • February 22 - 26 = 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • February 29 - March 4 = 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • March 5 = 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • March 7 - 11 = 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
  • March 12 = 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • March 13 = 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • March 14 = 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
